Embracing the Future of Work: CYS Global Remit Introduces Flexible Arrangements

A Report by CYS Global Remit Human Resources Management Unit

CYS Global Remit is setting a new standard in workplace innovation by launching comprehensive flexible work arrangements (FWAs) starting December 1, 2024. This initiative aligns with Singapore's progressive guidelines from the Tripartite Workgroup on Flexible Work Arrangements, embracing modern work practices.

Transforming the Traditional Workplace

Moving beyond the traditional nine-to-five model, CYS Global Remit introduces three flexible options:

  • Flexi-place: Allows employees to work from varied locations, including remote and home-based settings.

  • Flexi-time: Provides adaptable working hours while ensuring core business needs are met.

  • Flexi-load: Offers variable workload options, including part-time and job-sharing.

Adapting to New Guidelines

In line with Singapore's innovative approach, organizations are now required to formalize FWA request processes. Employees can apply post-probation, with employers assessing requests based on business criteria and responding in writing within two months.

Strategic Implementation at CYS

CYS's implementation strategy rests on three pillars:

  1. Streamlined Request Processing  A user-friendly online portal will facilitate efficient and transparent FWA applications.

  2. Enhanced Leadership Capability  A comprehensive training program will equip managers with skills in:

  3. Objectively evaluating FWA requests

  4. Understanding diverse employee needs

  5. Maintaining productivity within flexible models

  6. Fostering trust-based relationships

  7. Cultural Transformation  Through open dialogue and regular feedback sessions, CYS encourages discussions about flexibility needs, fostering a supportive work environment.

Handling FWA Requests: A Dual-Approach Strategy

Team leaders are trained to:

  1. Ensure Transparent Decision-Making  Managers provide clear, business-focused reasons when declining requests, maintaining trust through transparency.

  2. Encourage Solution-Oriented Discussions  If initial requests can't be met, managers explore alternative solutions that benefit both employees and the organization.

Looking Forward

As a leading provider of cross-border payments, CYS Global Remit's adoption of flexible work arrangements is not just about compliance—it's a strategic commitment to enhancing workforce satisfaction and productivity. This forward-thinking approach positions CYS at the forefront of workplace innovation, strengthening its competitiveness in the dynamic financial services sector.

By valuing flexibility while upholding operational excellence, CYS Global Remit is not only adapting to the future of work—it's actively shaping it.
