MaNaDr Clinic Suspended Over Telemedicine Concerns: Emphasizing Quality Care

A Report by CYS Global Remit Human Resource Management Unit

The recent suspension of MaNaDr Clinic's outpatient telemedicine services due to alleged misconduct—specifically, the issuance of multiple medical certificates within a short time frame—has spotlighted potential flaws in teleconsultation practices. This incident underscores the importance of upholding high standards in healthcare, even in virtual settings.

At CYS Global Remit, we appreciate the accessibility and convenience that telemedicine offers, especially given the heightened demand during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many people, including our staff, have relied on teleconsultations for medical guidance when unwell, enjoying the ease and efficiency of remote healthcare.

However, reports such as the 43-second consultation highlighted by CNA raise valid concerns about the adequacy of care. As employers, our priority is to ensure our staff receive thorough medical attention, whether they choose in-person visits or telemedicine.

The key to addressing these issues lies in fostering a culture of trust between employers and employees. CYS acknowledges the vital role telemedicine can play in maintaining health and well-being when used judiciously. Rather than limiting access, we aim to cultivate an atmosphere where employees feel empowered and supported in seeking the appropriate medical care, free from judgment or suspicion.

We advocate for open communication regarding health needs and trust our employees to engage with telemedicine responsibly. In return, we expect healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care, regardless of the consultation method used.

CYS Global Remit remains dedicated to the well-being of our staff, offering comprehensive support that extends beyond medical care. This includes initiatives like nutritious meal planning, strict adherence to office hours to promote work-life balance and fostering a supportive work environment.

By promoting a culture of trust and responsibility, we strive to balance leveraging telemedicine's convenience with ensuring our employees receive quality healthcare. This approach not only benefits our staff but also enhances workplace productivity and harmony.
