A Report by CYS Global Remit Human Resource Management Unit
Get ready for a major upgrade in parental leave! As it stands, mothers currently benefit from 16 weeks of maternity leave, while fathers enjoy 2 weeks of compulsory paternity leave, 2 weeks of optional leave, and can share up to 4 weeks from their partners' leave.
Starting April 1, 2025, new provisions ensure fathers will enjoy 4 weeks of mandatory paternity leave. Plus, both parents will have an additional 6 weeks of shared leave, expanding to 10 weeks come April 1, 2026. By 2026, this transformative policy will offer families up to 30 weeks of paid parental leave, a strategic move to address Singapore’s historically low fertility rate of 0.97 children per woman in 2023.
This change is especially exciting for CYS’s young professionals who might be planning to start families soon. We at CYS wholeheartedly encourage our team to take advantage of this enhanced leave policy to cherish precious moments with their newborns.
At CYS, we proudly align with national policies on nation-building and care for our citizens. Our commitment goes beyond compliance—we aim to cultivate an atmosphere that supports family-friendly practices and promotes lifelong learning.
